Nexi Health at South Summit 2026: Innovation, Mental Health, and Artificial Intelligence
What will the next generation of AI-powered companies look like? That was one of the major questions on everyone's mind at South Summit 2026. Over three days, Nexi Health had the opportunity to connect with entrepreneurs, investors, and innovation leaders to explore how technology is transforming key sectors such as healthcare.
A catalyst for business growth
South Summit has established itself as one of the leading venues for connecting startups, investors, and large companies, creating opportunities for funding, collaboration, and growth.
For Nexi Health, participating in South Summit is an opportunity to expand our network, build new partnerships, and continue advancing the use of AI in mental healthcare.
The event's international reach was reflected in figures like these:
- More than 7,500 participating startups
- More than 2,100 investors
- Representation from 134 countries
- More than 20,000 attendees
Our presence at this year's event allowed us to connect with stakeholders essential to our growth. In addition to presenting our project, we had the opportunity to hear different perspectives on the current state of innovation worldwide and analyze the trends shaping the future of multiple sectors.
La Nave: An environment designed for innovation
The event took place at La Nave, one of Madrid's leading innovation hubs, where startups, entrepreneurs, and companies come together to find opportunities to advance new technology projects.
La Nave is part of Madrid Innovation, an initiative led by the Directorate General for Innovation that aims to foster, develop, and accelerate Madrid's technology and entrepreneurial ecosystem. Nexi's relationship with Madrid Innovation is not new; in 2025, we had the opportunity to participate in its innovation program, where we were named the best startup in the incubation program at the final demo day.
Artificial intelligence as the driving force behind a new era
Artificial intelligence was one of the event's central themes. One of the main takeaways was that the debate is no longer about whether organizations will adopt AI, but about how they should integrate it effectively and responsibly into their processes to make the most of its potential.
South Summit explored this reality through the concept of “AI Convergence,” a new phase characterized by the integration of artificial intelligence, advanced technologies, industries, and global knowledge networks.
In this landscape, people continue to play a central role. Many of the talks shared a common idea: the value of AI lies not only in automating tasks, but also in helping professionals and organizations make better decisions.
This vision aligns directly with Nexi Health's mission. Our purpose is to harness the potential of artificial intelligence to address one of today's major challenges: improving mental healthcare through tools that provide value to both patients and professionals.
In this context, at Nexi Health we work to apply AI to improve mental healthcare, offering tools that support both patients and professionals throughout the therapeutic process.
The role of healthcare in the new technological landscape
Over the event's three days, the healthcare sector also had a presence. As a company specializing in mental health, we paid particular attention to initiatives, talks, and meetings related to the technological transformation of healthcare.
The conversations we had during the event confirmed the growing interest among medical institutions in solutions that combine artificial intelligence, patient monitoring, and clinical decision support.
We had the opportunity to take part in a breakfast hosted by CINFA, with Clave Capital in attendance, where we explored investment trends in healthcare startups. We also attended presentations by innovative companies developing disruptive solutions in fields as diverse as oncology, respiratory diseases, and gynecological health.
We also attended sessions focused on the use of artificial intelligence in healthcare settings, which examined the opportunities these technologies offer to improve the experience of patients and professionals. Standout talks included “From Chatbots to Agentic Health” and “AI and the Future of Health: Data, Sovereignty and Patient-Centric Innovation”.
Additionally, thanks to Euskadi Globala, we had the opportunity to pitch Nexi Health's project during the “Up! Euskadi” session, sharing the stage with twelve other innovative startups.
AI as a complement, not a replacement
At Nexi Health, we see AI as a support tool, not a replacement for professionals. In healthcare, and especially in mental health, the central role must remain with those who provide clinical judgment, experience, and human support.
Our goal is to develop solutions that make their work easier, optimize processes, and allow them to spend more time on what truly makes a difference: caring for people.
Exchanging experiences with other entrepreneurs, experts, and innovators gave us new perspectives on how to keep evolving in a constantly changing technological landscape. We returned from South Summit with more knowledge, new connections, and the motivation to continue innovating to help build a more accessible, efficient, and people-centered mental healthcare system.
