Nexi Health and Eibar launch the Emotional Well-Being Observatory
Together with the Eibar City Council, we are launching an observatory to understand residents’ mental and emotional well-being and help guide municipal care policies.
At Nexi Health, we have launched the Municipal Emotional Well-Being Observatory together with the Eibar City Council: a project to continuously understand how residents are feeling and help guide the municipality’s care policies.
Through this collaboration, we aim to better understand the population’s needs and provide useful information to plan preventive measures and direct public resources where they are needed most.
Better understanding for better care
The observatory grew out of needs identified by the City Council through its social assessments, studies on unwanted loneliness, and work focused on children and adolescents.
This work has highlighted instances of emotional distress that are not always visible and that sometimes only come to the attention of public services once they have worsened.
Together with the City Council, we are working to better understand these experiences. The observatory makes it possible to collect information periodically and analyze it according to variables such as age, sex, origin, or neighborhood of residence.
For the municipality, this means having information that helps identify needs, set priorities, and plan actions that better reflect residents’ circumstances.
Bruna makes participation easier
Bruna, our conversational agent specializing in mental health, is part of the observatory and helps collect information through conversations with residents.
The project combines digital channels and phone calls to make participation accessible to those who are less familiar with digital tools. To that end, it includes dedicated outreach to people over 50 through the telephone channel.
The conversations are private and confidential, as stated in the City Council’s announcement. The observatory pays particular attention to children, adolescents, and the most vulnerable groups.
Resources for residents’ well-being
The collaboration also includes a platform for participants, offering recommendations, tips, and resources to support their mental and emotional well-being.
This gives the City Council information to guide its actions while providing residents with resources they can incorporate into their daily lives.
A project within Eibar’s care strategy
The observatory is part of Eibar’s work on care, unwanted loneliness, social assessment, and equality.
At Nexi Health, we collaborate with the City Council so that insights into emotional well-being can support municipal decisions and help provide care that more closely meets the population’s needs.
Thank you to the Eibar City Council for trusting our team and championing this initiative.

What should a hospital consider before adopting an artificial intelligence tool?
Adopting artificial intelligence in a hospital is not just about choosing a tool. Before doing so, hospitals need to identify the problem they want to solve, verify the tool’s validation, assess how it fits into healthcare professionals’ workflows, and ensure the safe use of data.

How Is an Artificial Intelligence Tool Clinically Validated?
Just because an AI tool works technically does not mean it is ready for use in medicine. Its validation must go beyond accuracy: it must demonstrate clinical utility, safety, reliability, and appropriate integration into the care process, while always preserving the clinician’s judgment.

Why do we stop mental health treatment when we start feeling better?
Feeling better does not always mean treatment is over. Improvement can actually be one of the reasons some people stop mental health treatment prematurely. Understanding what happens between appointments and maintaining follow-up throughout the process can help preserve continuity of treatment.
